TV personality and jewellery expert Kate Bliss is heading to Derbyshire to help people unleash an auction windfall.
The familiar face from TV’s Bargain Hunt will be at Hansons Auctioneers, Heage Lane, Etwall, on Wednesday, April 27, 10am-4pm, to offer free jewellery, silver and watch valuations – and no appointment is necessary.

Kate, a fellow of the Gemmological Association specialising in jewellery covering antique and vintage items to contemporary pieces, said: “It will be brilliant to be back in Derbyshire. Everyone is always so friendly, and it’s so rewarding to uncover dazzling objects. I’ve made some wonderful finds on previous visits and hope people will bring some interesting items for me to assess.
“If you have something special tucked away at home, perhaps found during a spring clean, and you’re looking to sell at auction, I’d be delighted to advise. Gold, silver and jewellery are achieving record prices. It really is an excellent time to sell.”

Top lots in Hansons’ Spring Fine Art Jewellery, Silver and Watches Auction included a gents’ Rolex Daytona Oyster Perpetual Superlative Chronometer Cosmograph watch, above, which made £13,000 and a George V Dunhill silver novelty combination lighter/clock/timepiece, 1911, which soared to £3,200 from a £300-£500 estimate.
A Victorian locket and chain necklace reached £1,600 from a £300-£600 guide price and an Art Deco sapphire and diamond 18ct gold ring sold for £680, double its bottom estimate of £300.
Kate Bliss will be at Hansons, Heage Lane, Etwall, Derbyshire, DE65 6LS, on April 27, 10am-4pm. Items can be entered into Hansons’ monthly jewellery, silver and Fine Art sales. To find out more, email: [email protected].
