Star-studded BBC Bargain Hunt auction for Children in Need is coming to Hansons

 |  By andy

If you’ve ever wanted to dance in Debbie McGee’s shoes, join the audience at TV’s Strictly Come Dancing or go on an antiques shopping spree with Charles Hanson, now’s your chance.

These star-studded opportunities are among lots up for grabs in a Bargain Hunt BBC Children in Need Auction being held at Derbyshire’s Hansons Auctioneers on Thursday, September 19.

Bargain Hunt is set to film its BBC Children in Need celebrity special at the Etwall saleroom with Charles Hanson and his team running a showbiz takeover.

Pudsey Bear will join Bargain Hunt presenter Natasha Raskin Sharp on a mission to raise money for BBC Children in Need and celebrities from the world of entertainment will don the blue and red Bargain Hunt tops.

On the blue team TV presenter and former magician’s assistant Debbie McGee will team up with Sooty and his sidekick Richard Cadell. On the red team will be former ‘King of the Jungle’ Joe Pasquale and ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, and puppet Sam. The teams will be joined by Bargain Hunt experts Thomas Forrester and Tim Weeks who will be on hand to keep them in check.

You can bid on items bought by the celebrities at Southwell Antiques fair plus dozens more TV-inspired lots – many given as gifts by Bargain Hunt experts.

You can buy everything from Debbie McGee’s Strictly Come Dancing shoes and tickets to watch the glittering show being recorded, to opportunities to spend time with familiar faces from Bargain Hunt including Kate Bliss, Charles Hanson, Phil Serrell, Catherine Southon, Thomas Forrester and Jonathan Pratt.

Fancy an adventure with Charles?

Charles Hanson is offering his own personalised experience, where he’ll drive the lucky winning bidder to the Derbyshire town of Ashbourne for a spot of antique shopping. Alternatively, you can bid to spend a day making pottery with Thomas Forrester; meet Jonathan Pratt at Dreweatts Donnington Priory auction house or enjoy shopping, coffee and cakes with Kate Bliss.

Bargain Hunt fans can also look the part by bidding for some autographed red and blue team jackets from the show. A Bargain Hunt goodie box is also up for grabs containing items gifted by some of the show’s celebrities. Anita Manning has donated one of her colourful necklaces plus you can bid for signed posters and the chance to go behind the scenes on location with the TV team.

Other lots include tickets to watch a live recording of the Graham Norton show, tickets to BBC’s Top of the Pops Christmas 2019 studio recording, plus opportunities to go behind the scenes at The Archers, Countryfile and Have I Got News For You.

There is also a golden opportunity to join the cast and crew of this year’s Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas special and get VIP treatment. Plus, of course, a giant Pudsey bear signed by Natasha Raskin Sharp, Debbie McGee, Joe Pasquale, Richard Cadell and Sooty and Paul Zerdin and Sam will be in the sale.

‘Bid on lots money can’t normally buy’

Charles Hanson said: “Many of these experiences and objects are the sort of things money can’t buy. We’d love to see these BBC Bargain Hunt auction lots smash last year’s £12,000 record and make even more money for BBC Children in Need. Plus, if you bid on my lot, I may even be tempted to fire up my vintage Rolls-Royce.”

The Bargain Hunt BBC Children in Need auction lots can be viewed in advance at Hansons, Heage Lane, Etwall, Derbyshire, DE65 6LS, on Wednesday, September 18, 10am-4pm, together with items in Hansons’ September 19-20 sales.

BBC Bargain will be filming at Hansons on September 19. The auction starts at 10am and you can register to bid live at https://www.the-saleroom.com/landing/bargain-hunt-cin-new.htm . Normal buyer fees will be waived for this charity auction.

You can also bid for the Bargain Hunt Children in Need lots if you are registered with hansonslive.co.uk and normal buyer fees will be waived.
