New team powers Hansons Historica – Coins, Banknotes & Antiquities Department

A team of experts have joined forces to build and enhance Hansons Auctioneers’ specialist Historica, Coins and Antiquities department.

The specialist team will be led by William Hayward, an expert valuer of milled coinage, foreign coinage and banknotes.

William will be supported in his role by fellow department head Mark Becher, a valuer of multi-period coins and antiquities.

The Historica team will be further enhanced by Alan Smith, valuer of Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Anglo Saxon and Medieval coins and artefacts.

In addition, Adam Staples, a valuer of multi-period coins and antiquities, will be on hand to offer his expertise.

Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers, said: “I am proud to have gathered together a formidable team of experts who are well known in the world of coins, antiquities and metal detecting finds.

“They are all passionate about their field of expertise and looking forward to bringing new finds to market.”
