There were some fantastic and some very unexpected top selling lots at our London Auction oin 10th February.
The biggest surprise of all was the late 19th Century Quran in a tooled leather case, it had the hammer falling at £6,500!
Other high selling items were predominately oriental or Eastern in origin as you will see from the results below:
An 18th Century Chinese
Famille Rose Rouleau Vase decorated with Lohan and a mountain scene, despite a crack to
rim, this lovely vase sold for £3,600.
Lot 96 – A 19th cent Chinese Peach Blossom Jar and Cover. The underside marked with enamel peach, and a similar peach blossom cover, lacking base.

Lot 122 – A collection of Islamic metalware , including an enamel calligraphy jardiniere.

Lot 133 – Collection of 19th Century and later Chinese and Japanese scroll paintings some with ivory handles.
Sold for £2,500
Lot 140 – Fine quality Japanese Meiji period Netsuke of a warrior with monkey.
Sold for £4,500
Lot 443 – An early 20th Cent yellow metal mounted Jimbaya with cord scabbard.
