One of the quirkiest ever auction finds really takes the biscuit.
Oreo biscuits ‘Twisted, licked and dunked’ by award-winning singer-songwriter and musician Lewis Capaldi are to go under the hammer. They are being offered together with a pair of novelty Oreo glasses and an Oreo flight case signed by the star.
But Capaldi fans will have to dig deep to secure the sweet item. It’s being offered in Hansons Auctioneers’ Music Memorabilia sale on July 3 guided at £300-£500. The lot description states, ‘Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi has endorsed this small flight case of Oreo cookies! The case is signed on the front by the singer and inside are two packs of Oreos along with a pair of custom-made glasses with real Oreos on the outside. The specially printed Oreo packs state that the biscuits have been ‘Twisted, Licked, Dunked by Lewis Capaldi!’. One of the packets has also been signed’.

Claire Howell, music memorabilia specialist at Hansons: “As musical memorabilia finds go they don’t get much quirkier than this but, as many people like Lewis Capaldi and Oreo biscuits, it could do very well. It’s a fun item which would have been originally made for promotional purposes. I can only assume that Lewis likes Oreos!”
Glasgow-born Capaldi, 27, has enjoyed major musical success. In 2019 ‘Someone You Loved’ topped the UK Singles Chart for seven weeks and became the best-selling single of the year. It also reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2020 the song was acknowledged as the longest-running top 10 UK single of all time by a British artist.
Meanwhile Oreo sandwich cookies – two cocoa biscuits with a fondant filling – have cheered the tastebuds of sweet-toothed souls for more 100 years. It was introduced by Nabisco on March 6, 1912. Both Nabisco and the Oreo brand have been owned by Mondelez International since 2012. Today Oreo cookies are enjoyed by biscuit lovers in more than 100 countries.
Auction: The Oreo/Lewis Capaldi flight case, lot 23, will be offered in Hansons Auctioneers’ Music and Film Auction on July 3, held at the firm’s Derbyshire saleroom.
