Kate Bliss to do FREE jewellery valuations at new auction venue Bishton Hall

 |  By andy

Jewellery expert Kate Bliss – a familiar face on TV’s Bargain Hunt – is coming to Hansons’ new Staffordshire Auction Showroom Bishton Hall to value items for free.

Kate, who is also an expert in silver and watches, hopes the people of Staffordshire and beyond will dazzle her with starry finds when she visits the Georgian mansion at Wolseley Bridge on August 22 and September 19, 10am-3pm.

Kate, a consultant for Hansons, said: “I’m really looking forward to visiting the area and I hope people will delve into their drawers and jewellery boxes and bring along some interesting items for me to look at.

“If they like my guide price, they’re free to enter their objects into a future Hansons’ jewellery auction and hopefully scoop a welcome windfall.

“We often come across items people think are of little or no value that turn out to be gold or diamonds. For example, Hansons recently sold a gold Victorian snake brooch given away to a charity shop for £700.

“Then there was a Tudor Rolex watch worn in the garden and bought at a Midlands jewellery shop in the 1970s that sold for £51,500. Designer watches are very much in demand.

“Vintage gold is also often mistaken for costume jewellery. It’s lovely to give people something to smile about.”

Ray Heath will value goods every Thursday at Bishton Hall.

Free Valuations Every Thursday at Bishton Hall

Hansons has recently purchased Bishton Hall and, as well as hosting auctions, the venue will offer free valuations. Every Thursday, 10am-4pm, from August 15, valuer Ray Heath can assess your objects.

Charles Hanson said: “Drop by, enjoy a free valuation and cup of tea at our wonderful venue and, while you’re at Bishton, take time out to have a wander round itsTemple Garden which boasts a large and rare Doric Screen, one of the finest in the country.”

Kate Bliss will be at Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, Staffordshire, ST17 0XN, on August 22 and September 19, 10am-3pm. Ray Heath will be at the venue every Thursday, 10am-4pm.
