Hansons Auctioneers has launched an auction office in the historical Nottinghamshire town of Southwell.
A Valuation and Consignment Centre has opened at Memory Lane Antiques in Queen Street, a business owned by Carol Morrell and David Cookman.
Carol and Dave can assess antiques and arrange auction consignments and home visits in Southwell and beyond, supported by Charles. The popular face from TV’s Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip will visit the venue once a month, starting on Thursday October 5, to advise clients and offer valuations.
Charles said: “Southwell is a wonderful market town within a region of Nottinghamshire which is steeped in historical importance. This area has yielded some exceptional antique finds and we hope to discover many more.
“This joint venture between Hansons Auctioneers & Valuers and Memory Lane Antiques presents a perfect opportunity for us to advise clients, provide valuations and offer sales opportunities to people throughout Nottinghamshire.
“We’re pleased to be working with Carol and Dave. This collaboration brings Hansons’ full range of services to Southwell. These include house clearances and downsizing services, free home visits to assess large collections and the valuation and sale of all types of antiques and collectables including ceramics, furniture, clocks and jewellery.

Antique valuations, by appointment, are available at Memory Lane Antiques on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 10am-4pm. Appointments with Charles will be available on the first Thursday of each month, 10am-1pm. (from October 5, 2023)
