Don’t miss free antique valuations to aid charity in LEEDS this summer

 |  By andy

The people of Leeds are being urged to take advantage of free antiques, watches, silver and jewellery valuations in July and August to help a good cause.

Experts from Hansons Auctioneers will be at Donisthorpe Hall, Shadwell Lane, Leeds, on July 23 and August 20, from 11.30am-3.30pm. Valuations are free but donations will be invited for The Robert Sinclair Davidson Foundation, a charity offering support to young couples and families affected by life-threatening and terminal illnesses.

Hansons’ valuer Vanessa Savage said: “I can’t wait to meet the people of Leeds, support a good cause and uncover some treasures. You can bring along any antiques, collectables, jewellery, silver, watches, paintings, coins, militaria – anything you feel may be of value – for free valuations.

“Hansons offers a discreet and private service. If people come along to meet me I can also arrange for valuations to take place in the privacy of their own homes. Home visits are free.

“If people decide they would like to sell, items can be consigned to auction there and then. So often, people discover they are sitting on a windfall.

“Hansons holds free valuation days every week and I have made some great finds this year. For example, I found a beautiful Dunhill Aquarium lighter, which are highly sought after. It sold for £2,600 in June.”

Hansons Auctioneers will be at Donisthorpe Hall, Shadwell Lane, Leeds, on July 23 and August 20, from 11.30am-3.30pm. Dr Stewart Manning, a goodwill ambassador for The Robert Sinclair Davidson Foundation and keen charity supporter, will be on hand to meet and greet.

He said: “I am delighted Hansons has made The Robert Sinclair Davidson Foundation their charity partner. Robert Davidson, who originated from Leeds, sadly passed away in 2016 from a rapid form of Motor Nuerone Disease.

“I hope Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons and a familiar face on TV’s Bargain Hunt and Antiques Roadshow, will be able to come along to one of the events.”
