Stamps & Postal History

Stamps define nations – and we’re proud to celebrate this important collectables market in Hansons’ Stamp Auctions.

The post office has been a cornerstone of life across the world for centuries. Consequently, stamps or postal memorabilia have long been in demand – and inspire record-breaking results at Hansons.

For example, a collection of tiny ‘masterpiece’ bank note and stamp designs, hidden in a wardrobe for decades, sold for £167,000 at Hansons.

Stamp Collection Sells For £167,000

The rare archive by the late Leonard Fryer sparked a bidding frenzy among collectors around the world with one set of stamp designs relating to Malta in 1926 selling for £22,100.

Stamp collecting is one of the world’s most popular hobbies. Traced back as early as 1774, it’s brought joy to children and adults around the globe for centuries.
