Music & Entertainment Memorabilia

Music memorabilia rocks the rostrum in Hansons Auctioneers’ Music Memorabilia Auctions –  and new buying trends rocket to the top of the sales hit parade all the time. From Elvis and rockabilly to The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Madonna, Queen and Oasis, there is demand for all types of mementos.

Musical Memorabilia Auction hits can include anything from an item of clothing worn by a star – we’ve sold Elvis’s cufflinks – to a vintage music poster, rare concert ticket or work on paper. For example, an early Oasis contract sold for £4,000 at Hansons, smashing its estimate. Right now, items relating to iconic bands from the 1980s and 1990s are gaining strong hammer prices.

Vinyl Records In Vogue

Then, of course, we have seen the return of records – vinyl is in vogue again. Those old record collections gathering dust in the attic can be worth substantial amounts. Vintage records can sell for hundreds, sometimes thousands, of pounds at auction. We are happy to assess and sell large collections or single items and can identify valuable vinyl. Major CD collections can also do well with one large collection from a house clearance achieving £2,000.

Autographs excel at auction too. A signed note from Jimi Hendrix sold for £5,700 at Hansons and sparked media coverage on more than120 media websites around the world. This demonstrates the power of music and the enduring popularity of its major stars. Take The Beatles. Authenticated early autographs featuring signatures of the whole band have achieved £4,200 in Hansons’ Music Memorabilia sales.
