Charles Hanson to host Pattonair charity ball to aid British Heart Foundation

 |  By andy

Derby-based aerospace and defence supply chain service provider Pattonair is hoping to raise tens of thousands for charity by holding a spectacular ball – which Charles Hanson will host.

Last year, the firm raised £43,118 for Childline, and it is hoping to repeat this success for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The BHF estimates that in the East Midlands alone there are around 550,000 people living with heart and circulatory diseases. These conditions claim the lives of 11,410 people in the region each year.

Derek Kilgariff, Fundraising Manager for Derbyshire at the BHF, said: “We’re so grateful Pattonair has chosen us as their charity this year.

“Events like this will raise vital funds towards the life-saving research that the BHF carries out across the country. We fund over £100m of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases, along with conditions connected to them.

“The only way we can fund our ground-breaking research is thanks to the generosity of the public. We want to say a big thank you to Pattonair, as every penny raised at this ball will help us in our fight to beat heartbreak forever.”

The ball, on 5 October, promises to be an excellent opportunity for Derbyshire businesses and the wider community to come together to socialise, network and raise money for a worthy cause. More than 330 tickets have already been sold to firms and organisations.

The evening will be hosted by antiques expert Charles Hanson, of Derby-based Hansons Auctioneers, who stars in the hit television shows Bargain Hunt, Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip.

Along with his MC duties, Charles will conduct a charity auction with lots including rare items such as football boots signed by England heroes Jamie Vardy and John Stones, unique hotel stays and diamond jewellery.

Speaking about the event, Charles said: “I’m passionate about supporting charities and it’s a privilege to bring the art of auctioneering to prestigious fundraising events. Pattonair’s ball promises to be an exceptional evening and I will do my utmost to make the experience the best it possibly can be.”

Along with the auction, guests can expect live music, guest speakers, further entertainment and a three-course meal.

Pattonair’s CEO, Wayne Hollinshead, said: “Our inaugural charity ball last year was a huge success and helped to raise a substantial amount of money for Childline.

“We’re looking forward to hosting another great night for the local business community and raising as much money as possible for the British Heart Foundation, a fantastic cause which holds a special place for many of the team here at Pattonair.”

The ball takes place at the Derby Roundhouse. Tickets cost £85 each or £800 for a table of ten, with all proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. They are selling fast and can be purchased online at www.pattonairautumnball.com.
