Can he make a Flipping Profit? Charles Hanson stars in new BBC1 show

 |  By andy

Celebrity TV auction expert Charles Hanson is hoping to raise some smiles in a new BBC TV show which starts on April 16.

Charles, already a familiar face on Antiques Road Trip, Flog It! and Bargain Hunt, will face a new TV challenge in Flipping Profit.

In the show, an antiques expert, market trader and upcycler battle it out to make the most money for BBC Children in Need.

Derbyshire-born Charles, who owns Hansons Auctioneers in Etwall and recently launched Hansons London, will feature in episode two which airs on Tuesday, April 17, BBC1, at 3.45pm.

He takes on top trader Linda Lambert and trendy upcycler Zoe Pocock in their battle to find second-hand gems to turn into gold at Glastonbury.

Dubbed South East London’s coolest recycler, Zoe Pocock, owns Muck N Brass which creates funky furniture. Meanwhile Linda Lambert, who originates from Essex, is a hugely experienced trader and TV personality who has also appeared on Storage Hunters UK.

The trio head to antique shops, scrap yards and flea markets with just one day to search out items to turn into profit.

It’s a race against time, as they only have three weeks before their profits are revealed. Will Charles be able to sell that expensive wooden chest? Can Linda find a buyer for that confessional door? And after her plans go awry, what is Zoe going to do with all those dolls?

Charles, who has appeared on TV shows since 2002 when he started appearing on Bargain Hunt, says: “I’m facing some formidable girl power. Will I win gold, silver or bronze? You’ll have to wait and see.

“This was rather different for me but hugely good fun – and all for a great cause. I hope to raise some smiles with my efforts. I did my very best to fly the flag for Derby and Derbyshire.”
