Comedy fans can be the first to see fascinating lots celebrating the life of legendary entertainer Eric Morecambe at a special preview event in Derbyshire.
Hansons Auctioneers’ first sale of 2025 is The Eric Morecambe Collection, the entire contents of his former home. His treasures, which include his OBE, glasses, stage props, antiques, art, birdwatching books and mountains of showbiz memorabilia, had been left untouched since his passing aged 58 in 1984.
The sale catalogue is live online and sparking global interest but the people of Derbyshire and neighbouring counties can be among the first to see some of Eric’s treasures in person. A Christmas preview of some of the star lots will be held at the firm’s Etwall saleroom, Heage Lane, on Thursday, December 19 from 1.30-4.30pm – and you can secure a place for free.

At 2pm each day, Eric Morecambe’s daughter Gail Stuart will give a talk and host a question-and-answer session.
