Bargain Hunt Children in Need special airs on November 17 – hosted by Hansons Auctioneers

Popular TV show Bargain Hunt airs its Children in Need special on November 17, 2023 and you might spot a familiar face in the crowd – and on the rostrum.

Around 1,000 people from Derbyshire, Staffordshire and beyond enjoyed the filming fun because it was was hosted by Hansons Auctioneers. And the firm’s owner, Charles Hanson, wielded his gavel to lead the fun-packed charity special.

He said: “Hansons is always delighted to welcomes the Bargain Hunt film crew to our salerooms but this year’s Children in Need special was particularly spectacular. That’s because the event drew our biggest crowd ever.

“We ensure there are plenty enthusiastic antiques fans to enhance the excitement for the TV cameras but we surpassed all expectations this year. Around 1,000 people enjoyed the spectacle. We are always overwhelmed by the public’s response to the show’s popularity.

“We’re able to house such as large audience thanks to ample outdoor space at Hansons’ Staffordshire saleroom Bishton Hall, a Georgian mansion which also doubles up as an events venue. Consequently, as well as hundreds of guests, Bishton welcomed the film crew, TV personalities from the world of antiques, the red and blue teams and some fabulous celebrity contestants.

“Guests travelled from far and wide to enjoy the auction on a glorious summer’s day in August and it was huge fun. Do tune in and find out how much Hansons helped to raise for Children In Need.”

Bargain Hunt’s Children in Need special airs on BBC1 on Friday, November 17 at 12.15pm. Christina Trevanion hosts from Bishton Hall where four well-known faces are challenged to scour an antiques fair and pick up bargains to sell for profit at auction.

The red side comprises award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and Caribbean culinary queen Rustie Lee, with their expert David Harper. Their opponents in blue are former lead singer of M People Heather Small and keyboardist and composer Rick Wakeman, with their expert Danny Sebastian. Meanwhile, Charles Hanson drums up bidding excitement as auctioneer. There’s plenty of pressure, as any proceeds go to BBC Children in Need.
