Auction stars at home? Free jewellery and silver valuations with KATE BLISS in October

Jewellery and silver prices are buoyant at auction and if you have items to sell TV personality Kate Bliss can value your items for free.

The familiar face from Bargain Hunt will be offering free valuations on the following dates,10am-3pm, unless otherwise stated:

Thurs Oct 15: Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, Staffs, ST17 0XN
Wed Oct 21: Holloway’s 49 Parsons Street, Banbury, Oxfordshire, 0X16 5NB

No appointments are necessary and Covid-19 rules are strictly adhered to.

Kate, a fellow of the Gemmological Association specialising in jewellery covering antique and vintage items to contemporary pieces, said: “Gold, silver and jewellery in general are achieving some exceptional prices at auction. We have seen some dazzling results recently. It really is an excellent time to sell.”

In Hansons’ September Fine Art Auction lot 158, a diamond and 18ct white gold cluster ring, sold for £6,000 and lot 180, a diamond and 18ct yellow gold tennis bracelet reached £4,300.

Vintage designer watches are desirable and lot 208, a limited-edition gents IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Cousteau Divers titanium and stainless steel wristwatch made £3,400

In the silver section, lot 32, a 1970s modern silver House of Lawrian for Christopher N Lawrence eight-piece drinks set sold for £3,000.

Gold coins are also achieving strong results and lot 182, a Britannia Spirt of a Nation premium six-coin gold proof set, 2019, was contested to £2,500.

Kate is a consultant valuer for Hansons, owned by fellow TV personality from the antiques world Charles Hanson. Items can be entered into Hansons’ monthly jewellery and silver sales.
