SALE OF BLADES AND CURRENT RESTRICTIONS

ALL PURCHASERS OF BLADED ITEMS MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD OR OVER.

We are currently able to send smaller-sized antique bladed items to U.K. addresses using Royal Mail’s Age Verified service (this Royal Mail service carries a small surcharge).

Bladed items that are antique and can be safely packed within a tube must be no longer than 90cm in length, with the overall size—including the length plus twice the diameter—not exceeding 104cm.

It is strongly advised that prospective buyers contact our postage department at [email protected] prior to bidding on any bladed item to confirm whether the item can be posted in-house.

If your shipping address is outside the U.K., please contact us prior to bidding to discuss shipping options.

In addition to postal options, blades can be collected by appointment from our sale rooms, or transferred to one of our sale rooms closer to your home address.

IF BLADES FALL OUTSIDE OF THESE RESTRICTIONS, BLADED ITEMS MUST BE COLLECTED FROM US OR YOU MUST ARRANGE YOUR OWN COURIER AND PACKING SERVICE.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL BIDDERS FOR FIREARMS, AIRGUNS, REPLICA, DE-ACTIVATED AND ANTIQUE FIREARMS

Buyers of Section 1 & 2 firearms must be Registered Firearms Dealers or hold a current shotgun or firearm certificate authorising the acquisition.

Please note that in relation to airguns, replica, blank-firing and de-activated firearms, some restrictions—including age and status—may apply. Certain replicas may require proof of membership of re-enactment groups, use for theatrical or film production, museum purposes, or other legal exemptions.

Before bidding, intending buyers should familiarise themselves with the Firearms Acts and the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006, and ensure they are legally able to acquire and possess any firearm, airgun, antique, replica or de-activated firearm. Evidence will be required upon collection.

Buyers of all antique, replica, blank-firing and de-activated firearms must also provide evidence that they are over 18.

These items can only be sold within the U.K. and must be collected in person from Hansons at Etwall, Derbyshire, unless otherwise specifically and legally arranged at Hansons’ absolute discretion.
