Vintage vinyl and autographs from pop, rock and punk artists from the 1970s and 80s are proving to be chart toppers at auction.
Vinyl records have long been in hot demand as music comes full circle and collectors reach out to hold something tangible in their hands in a digital age.

Lot 38 | Kate Bush – Signed album sleeve – Never For Ever. Love Kate Bush. Album sleeve only. Highly distinctive singer/songwriter, born July 30, 1958 in Bexleyheath, London, UK. Bush was signed to EMI at the age of 16 after David Gilmour heard her work and helped her produce a demo tape. In 1978, aged 19, her debut single ‘Wuthering Heights’ reached No.1 in four countries. She has maintained a large cult following. Bush’s most prolific creative period was between 1978-1993, with a release of new material and new albums every few years. Lot 44 | Jo Sago – Tea and Symphony Emi Harvest vinyl ex sleeve vg – SHVL 785 with A1 B1 Matrix original 1970. Vinyl LP Record. Tea & Symphony (soon to be Tea and Symphony) was a UK prog folk band, active from late 1960s to the early 1970s. Formed in 1968 in Birmingham, Tea & Symphony experienced numerous changes in line-up until its creative core eventually coalesced around James Langston (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Jeff Daw (lead guitar, backing vocals, flute ) LP by Jo Sago Tea & Symphony Original 1970 pressing | Sold £250
Lot 55 | T-Rex – plus The Damned – Original handbill flyer in very good condition, 1977, off white paper with purple print. Promoting concerts scheduled for dates from March 10-18, 1977. It measures approx 15cm by 21 1/4 cm. Tyrannosaurus Rex fronted by guitarist/vocalist Marc Bolan (born Mark Feld). They became glam rock pioneers and shortened their name to T. Rex in 1970. They had a series of Top 10 hits in the UK, including four number one singles. In America, the group had one major hit – “Bang a Gong (Get It On)”. The Damned, an English punk band, was formed in 1976 by Dave Vanian (vocals), Brian James (guitar), Ray Burns aka Captain Sensible (bass then guitar), and Chris Millar aka Rat Scabies (drums).The group was the first British punk band to release a single, New Rose in 1976. They turned to a more psychedelic and gothic sound in the 1980s | Sold £150
Lot 79 | Bauhaus – Bela Lugosi`s Dead – Fully Autographed 1979 12 inch record. Signed in blue biro in the 80s. Teeny 2 Small Wonder Records. English Post-Punk band, formed in Northampton in 1978. Originally named “Bauhaus 1919” after the school of the same name, but dropped 1919 before being together for one year. Bauhaus disbanded in 1983 but reunited for a tour in 1998. Daniel Ash, David Haskins and Kevin Haskins founded Love And Rockets and Peter Murphy made Dalis Car collaboration for a year and later performed as a solo artist. The band reformed and toured again in 2005 but ultimately broke up in 2008 after releasing the final studio album “Go Away White”. | Sold £580 – treble its £150-£200 estimate
Lot 82 | AMI 200 Jukebox from 1958. AMI (Automatic Musical Instrument company), made superb quality Jukeboxes from 1927 and during the 1950s took inspiration from American Automobiles of that era, as can be seen in the design of this iconic 200 selection Jukebox. In superb and fully working condition | Sold £7,900. A post sale price of £10,000 was achieved for a Wurlitzer jukebox in the same sale.
