Vintage designer bags in the closet? Luxury goods are in high demand

 |  By Kendal Cooper

The luxury resale market is one of the fastest growing industries as the demand for second-hand luxury goods increases year on year. Savvy shoppers are looking to pick up sought-after fashion items such as handbags, clothes, jewellery and watches for a bargain price.

There are occasions where the resale cost is actually higher than the original price as fashionistas seek out limited-edition pieces that they missed out on first time around and that they are willing to pay for no matter what the cost.

Now is the perfect time for you to cash in on this trend and consign the pieces you have hidden away in your wardrobe to the luxury goods and vintage fashion sale at Hansons Auctioneers’ Staffordshire saleroom Bishton Hall on September 9.

Following a Chanel exhibition at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum the Chanel market is particularly buoyant with shoes, handbags and jewellery selling well at auction. Hermes scarves are always popular and Hermes bags are one of the things that can go for more than you paid.

If you have any items from brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, Chanel or Hermes that you would like to have valued and then send to our next specialist sale, please email Fashion and Textile consultant Virginia Ewart: [email protected]
