A large collection of Lillyput Lane ceramics sold for hundreds of pounds at auction at Hansons.
The collection, complete with original boxes, achieved £480 in the firm’s January Antiques and Collectors sale.
Karl Martin, Hansons valuer, said: “Lilliput Lane, a firm founded by David Tate in 1982, created realistic miniature handmade models of iconic British buildings such as The Tower of London and English and Welsh countryside cottages. They were sold in gift and tourist shops around the country.
“These proved very popular with previous generations, particularly in the 1980s and 90s, and were sold in 50 countries around the world.
“Over the years, many examples have come to auction. The strong price achieved for this latest major collection suggests they may be gaining importance as collectors’ items.
“Sadly David Tate passed away in 2017 but his legacy lives on.”
