If you’re dreaming of spring in the bleak midwinter take inspiration from a multitude of colourful creations by important Ukrainian artists.
Vibrant blooms and a heady mix of colours abound in the January 9-23 Ukraine Art Fundraising Timed Auction. It offers 97 compelling artworks by Ukrainian artists and funds raised will support an artistic community devastated by war.
The works cover many themes but floral inspiration is notable. For example, still life paintings entitled ‘Lilics’ and ‘June Tenderness’ by Victor Stognut capture the simple beauty of flowers in a vase, lots 27 and 28. Equally uplifting is ‘Sunflowers’, a bold oil on canvas by Oleksandr Serdiuk, lot 150.
Amid the chaos and misery of conflict artists have battled to continue their work in tremendously difficult circumstances. Hansons was proud to support them in 2023, hosting a sale of works at London’s Ukrainian Cathedral.
