All at sea over your antiques? Then join Charles Hanson on a special voyage of discovery

 |  By Kendal Cooper

The first ever chance to join antiques expert and charismatic TV personality Charles Hanson aboard ship is coming up.

Charles is set to entertain passengers on a special Fred Olsen cruise entitled Antiques At Sea. So if you’re all at sea over what your antiques may be worth, or would just to meet the man himself, it’s the perfect holiday for you.

In May 2024 Charles will set sail aboard Fred Olsen ship Borealis to fascinate fellow shipmates with tales of his antique discoveries and what life is like behind the scenes on TV show such as Bargain Hunt and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

He said: “I love sharing my experiences and meeting people so it’s a perfect fit for me – as long as I find my sea legs. We could make a splash together!”

During the five-night Dutch Tulips and Waterways holiday Charles will give two talks to passengers. Plus, holidaymakers are invited to take along antique treasures and heirlooms. Ones that are small enough to pack of course!

“Together we can unravel the history and stories behind their items, ” said Charles. “I’m hugely excited. It’s time for antiques to make waves at sea.

“For me assessing a multitude of unusual objects is the key part of the day job. I never lose my sense of awe. When I uncover something rare, valuable or historical it stops me in my tracks. I travel far and wide to make new discoveries but have never done a sea search for antique treasures before.

“I can’t wait to create some magical holiday memories. I give many talks and this year I’ve been taking part in my first ever stage show called Antiques and a Little Bit of Nonsense with some fellow TV antiques experts. I’m pleased to say it’s earned some rave reviews and delighted audiences across the UK.

“Experiences like this have helped me understand what antique fans love to hear about. So come and join me and let’s set sail on an antiques voyage of discovery.”

Join Charles Hanson on the Antiques at Sea Fred Olsen cruise, which sets sail from Southampton on May 2, 2024. To learn more, call 0800 432 0291 or email [email protected]
