Hundreds of exquisite items will go under the hammer in the Country House Fine Art, Jewellery and Interiors Auction at Bishton Hall on March 28.

Here, the team of valuers at Hansons’ Staffordshire saleroom at Wolseley Bridge highlight 5 tops lots predicted to catch bidders’ eyes.

Gold to charm you

Lot 77 | Charm bracelets are in hot demand as gold prices remain strong. This 9ct gold charm bracelet with heart padlock clasp boasts 14 charms, plus a 1903 half sovereign. Gross weight approximately 59.3 grams. £800-1000

Sky-high dragons

Lot 129 | This 19th century bronze, two-handled censer features two five-claw sky dragons chasing pearls. 6 character mark Xuande 1426-1435, approximately 20cm in diameter. It is being offered with two small bronze dishes. £400-600

Ruskin-red style

Lot 141 | This ravishing-in-red Ruskin Pottery vase displays a high-fired globe and shaft flambé glazed vase. Height 21.5cm. Wares from this English pottery manufactures are popular thanks to their vibrancy. Condition good. £400-600

Lot 168 | Elegance, detail and decoration combine to make antique tableware forever popular. This early 19th century gilt and hand-painted floral Staffordshire dessert set comprises 20 pieces -12 plates, one comport and siz serving dishes. Plates are 23cm in diameter and comport is 20cm high. £250-350

Drawers of splendour

Lot 310 | This George III mahogany chest on chest, circa 1790, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, has moulded dental cornice on an inverted arch frieze above two short and two long drawers on a fall front secretaire. It brims with pigeonholes and interior drawers, brass handles and brass keyholes. This splendid piece of furniture, raised on carved ogee feet, measures 179cm H x 112cm W x 51cm D. £300-500
