TV antiques expert Adam Schoon to host free valuation events in Derbyshire and Staffordshire

 |  By Kendal Cooper

One of the UK’s best-known faces from  the world of antiques is heading to the Midlands to uncover treasures.

Adam Schoon, an expert on TV’s Antiques Roadshow since 1999, is coming to Hansons Auctioneers’ Derbyshire saleroom in Heage Lane, Etwall, on March 21. The following day, March 22,  Adam will share his expertise at Georgian mansion Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge. The venue, which dates back to circa 1750, is Hansons’ Staffordshire saleroom. Both events will run from 10am-4pm.

If you’re pleased with Adam’s assessment items can be consigned to auction on the day – and a windfall could be on the way. Free appointments can be booked now and Adam is looking forward to seeing all types of antiques.

Adam, a  Fine Art consultant for more than 40 years and member of The Oriental Ceramic Society of London, said: “I can’t wait to come to the Midlands. Events like this are a voyage of discovery for me. It’s always fascinating to see what people have had tucked away at home, often for decades.

“Events like these often lead to remarkable finds being made. It’s wonderful to see people’s reactions when they realise they own something extra special.”

Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers, said: “Anyone with a passion for TV antiques show will be familiar with Adam Schoon, a hugely respected Fine Art expert.

“It is a privilege to welcome a valuer with vast knowledge and pedigree to Hansons’ sales centres. If you have an object you are curious to know more about this  is an opportunity not to missed.”

To book a free appointment with Adam School at Hansons’s Derbyshire saleroom on March 31, call 01283 733988 or email [email protected].
