Would you like to be seated on your very own throne?

 |  By andy

Old world grandeur could be yours thanks to an auction of fine antiques and collectables from a Derbyshire country home – including a set of thrones.

Everything from furniture, lightings and ceramics to glassware, paintings and prints from The Toft, Ingleby, will be sold on Monday, July 13 – and there is a plethora of riches to choose from.

The aforementioned pair of thrones, lot 63, are elaborately carved with heraldry and lions heads and boast upholstered seats and backs. If you want to feel a little like royalty their estimate is a humble £250-£350.

If you like to dine in style, lot 40, is a magnificent mahogany D-end extending dining table of Victorian design with four leaves, gadroon-carved bulbous legs, brass cappings and castors, measuring 128cm wide and 385cm long when fully extended. It comes with a set of 10 carved mahogany dining chairs, two of Georgian design. Estimate £800-£1,000

Then there’s lot 88, a set of three brass 18-light electroliers of Dutch design, in two tiers, with three pairs of similar wall lights. Estimate £400-£600.

The stunning collection will go under the hammer from 4pm on July 13. Browse the catalogue and bid now at www.hansonlive.co.uk. For downsizing/house clearance quotes, please email [email protected].
