Meet the two Charlies! Join Charlie Ross and Charles Hanson at FREE antiques valuation day

 |  By andy

Two of the UK’s best-known faces from TV antiques shows – Charlie Ross and Charles Hanson – are teaming up for a free antiques valuation day in Staffordshire.

The popular personalities, familiar faces on Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip and Flog it!, will be at Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, on Wednesday August 5, from 10am-5pm – and they want to see your lockdown treasures.

Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers and Bishton Hall, his firm’s Staffordshire saleroom, said: “I know lots of people have been clearing out rooms, attics and garages. We’d love to value any treasures you’ve come across. Maybe we can help you unleash an auction windfall.”

Valuations are free and no appointment is necessary. However, you can make your day extra special by enjoying a VIP Tea, Talk and Tour of Bishton Hall, starting at 9.15am. It will include refreshments and an opportunity to hear Tales Of The Two Charlies. Both Charlie Ross and Charles Hanson are renowned auctioneers with decades of fascinating anecdotes to share. To book a place, priced £10, contact Rachael Morley by emailing [email protected]

Georgian country property Bishton Hall.

Charles Hanson said: “Both Charlie and I are passionate about what we do, as well as being great friends, and we’re very much looking forward to entertaining visitors at Bishton. Come to meet us and enjoy exploring this wonderful period property, which dates back to circa 1750.

“Covid-19 has had a massive impact on us all and continues to do so. However, thanks to the great outdoor space we have at Bishton together with its large open and airy rooms, we can host this event safely.”

Hansons is keen for the public to enjoy Bishton Hall, a former private school it purchased in 2019. Rich in history, the site was first mentioned in the Domesday Book. The Grade II* listed property’s Temple Garden, which was restored by English Heritage, features a central Doric Screen which is regarded as one of the finest in the country.

Charles said: “I fell in love with Bishton’s old-world grandeur and very much want this important Staffordshire property to be open to the wider community.”

The Two Charlies Antique Valuation Day will be held Wednesday, August 5, 10am-5pm, at Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, Staffs, ST17 0XN. To book a place, priced £10, for the VIP Talk and Tour, please email Rachael Morley: [email protected]
