Auctioneer and television personality Charles Hanson is set to host a live auction from his Derbyshire garden shed to raise money for the NSPCC on Friday August 28 from 6.30pm.
Charles, who has appeared on television programmes such as Bargain Hunt, Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip, will auction off exciting lots to raise money for a charity that has stepped up its efforts to meet the needs of children during lockdown.
Lots have been donated by various well-known Midlands faces such as Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight CBE, magician and TV presenter Ben Hanlin and comedian Jasper Carrott OBE. Catalogue

Steven Knight has donated a cap and scarf from Garrison Tailors, as well as a personalised video message from himself to the highest bidder, and Ben Hanlin has donated a hand-made mosaic made from 300 Rubix cubes.
There are many more exciting lots to bid on, including signed sports memorabilia, distillery tours and sightseeing flights.
Charles is encouraging the public to support the auction to help the charity continue its vital work for children.
He said: “I am thrilled to be running an online auction to aid the NSPCC – an incredibly important charity which battles to stop cruelty to children.
“As a father myself, it’s difficult to comprehend the misery inflicted on some children. But we can all do something to help by supporting this auction and raising funds for a fantastic cause.
Charles has raised money for the NHS and Florence Nightingale Museum during lockdown.
“This is my way of making a difference. I hope people will join me in helping the NSPCC by bidding on the night during what I promise will be an entertaining and fun live auction broadcast.”
Hansons Auctioneers has hosted three online charity auctions during lockdown to raise funds for the NHS, London’s Florence Nightingale Museum and Nottinghamshire’s Creswell Crags Museum and Prehistoric Gorge raising a combined total of £62,000.

“All lots donated will go a long way to help a charity that has gone above and beyond during the pandemic to meet the needs of vulnerable children through its services and Childline. It would be great if people could tune in because there are some fantastic lots on offer.

The charity has managed this though adapting its vital services, and Childline continuing to deliver thousands of counselling sessions to children concerned about Coronavirus and other worries.
