Bargain Hunt fans can watch TV show being filmed at Bishton Hall this September

Bargain Hunt fans can watch the long-running hit TV show being made in Staffordshire this September.

Episodes of the hit BBC series will be filmed at Bishton Hall, Hansons Auctioneers’ country house saleroom at Wolseley Bridge, on Monday, September 28 and guests can watch the fun unfold as items go under the hammer.

Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons and regular on Bargain Hunt, said: “It’s a fantastic treat for fans of the show. Bargain Hunt has filmed at Hansons’ salerooms in Derbyshire, London and Staffordshire before and it’s always hugely enjoyable for all concerned.

“Due to Covid-19 restrictions, numbers will be limited to allow social distancing but thanks to Bishton’s ample gardens and airy marquee facilities we are able to welcome people safely to a wonderful venue.

“Bargain Hunt filmed for the first time at Bishton this summer and the resulting episodes were recently aired on television. We’re delighted to welcome the film crew back once again.

BBC Bargain Hunt are regular visitors to Hansons.

“It’s always fascinating to watch a show being made. It’s a chance to see well-known antiques experts and witness the genuine excitement on the faces of members of Bargain Hunt’s blue and red teams when the items they have chosen go under the hammer. Plus, of course, you may see yourself on a future episode of the show.”

Bargain Hunt is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, having first aired in 2000. Each episode brings together two pairs of contestants who are challenged to buy antiques and then sell them at a profit at auction.

Bring a picnic. You are advised to confirm a free place as soon as possible as numbers will be restricted due to Covid-19. Details must be provided for track and trace purposes and people will not be allowed entrance without prior booking.

Bishton Hall, an atmospheric Georgian mansion dating back to circa 1750, has large gardens and free parking facilities.
