Hansons offers a Covid-safe house clearance service you can rely on

 |  By andy

Established in 2005 with a headquarters in Derbyshire and salerooms in Staffordshire, Oxfordshire and London, Hansons Auctioneers have extensive and professional experience in handling house clearances.

We have taken every step in line with COVID-19 regulations to adhere to business guidelines to continue our house clearance, downsizing and probate services.

Our COVID-SAFE procedures include protective equipment, social distancing measures, the wearing of masks and sanitising to keep both staff and clients safe. In addition, our vehicles are regularly disinfected.

We offer a comprehensive, bespoke house clearance service for houses and bungalows of all sizes , flats, offices and all other large buildings.

Whether you are an executor clearing a deceased estate, investigating downsizing options, administering probate, emigrating or just tired of clutter, Hansons can help you.

We offer:

  • Complete and part house clearance services
  • Emptying the house of all or part of the contents
  • Properly disposing of all that cannot be sold – including proper disposal of items which do not meet current fire or electrical regulations
  • Cleaning the property afterwards ready for new occupants or to go on the market

Whatever your situation, we have a solution to suit you.

Free home visits and no hidden costs

We offer free home visits and no-obligation quotes – a representative will meet the client on site to discuss their individual requirements and explain the costs involved,

We pride ourselves on our service and act for you throughout. Contact us on 01283 733988 or email [email protected] to discuss our range of professional services

We pride ourselves on being reliable and understanding at a difficult time and can give advice in all matters.

Why choose the auction process?

In a constantly evolving antiques and collectables market, you may well have a hidden treasure waiting to be found. For example, in 2020 we found a £400,000 teapot in a Derbyshire garage! Unlike many auctioneers, we do not cherry pick or delegate out items of lesser value to other firms – we handle the entire clearance.

You can have the confidence that higher value and more specialised items will be uncovered, professionally assessed and offered in the relevant sale.

Items are sold in online-only auctions and our sales centres cater for all aspects of the collectors and antique world – from household effects to jewellery and fine art, cars to medals and fine wines.

Many items discovered among the contents of a house clearance may be worth far more than you imagine so, if you are not sure, it is always wise to ask our antique experts. It is our responsibility to maximise the proceeds of the sale on your behalf.

When clients are downsizing or emigrating, we can advise and organise haulage and sale through auction of any excess furniture, ornaments, pictures, electricals, tools and garden ornaments to suit a time schedule.

Naturally, free home visits are available to arrange quotations.

Paperwork and sale proceeds

General receipts are given at the time of collection for goods consigned to auction with us. Email or postal notification is sent approximately a week prior to the auction advising clients of date of sale(s), lot numbers and pre-sale estimates.

Once everything has been sold, an itemised cheque with all fees deducted is sent by post to the account holder. Bank transfer of funds can be made on request.

Fees

Our initial advice is free of charge and we are always delighted to share our expertise – know the price before you sell. Quotes for house clearances, probate and downsizing solutions are given on an individual basis based on location, timings and logistics.
