Worcester Wonder – Lot 15
This Worcester blue and white tea bowl and saucer, painted with The Landslip pattern, dates back to circa 1758, has workman’s marks and is an impressive piece. The bowl has a 7cm diameter and the saucer a 12cm diameter. Regarding condition, there are nibbles to the rim of the tea bowl and to the foot rim of saucer. No other damage or restoration. £240-£260.
Rare Derby wine taster from 1770 – Lot 35
This rare and dainty Derby blue and white wine taster, painted with a flower to the centre, is dated 1770, making it 251 years old. Its diameter is 7.5cm and is has a small chip to the top rim. £180-£200.
The art of dining in style – Lot 57
Who couldn’t love the grandeur of this18th century Worcester hand-painted in blue porcelain part dessert service, made in 1775. Each piece is decorated in the Kangxi Lotus pattern and includes an open-work basket with flowerhead decoration, two tureens, covers, stands and ladles, four kidney-shaped dishes, three circular dishes in two sizes, two oval dessert dishes and a further large serving dish. (14 items in total). Regarding condition, one dessert dish is cracked and glued, the other has a foot rim chip. There is also a small rim chip to one of the oval dishes and small foot rim chip to the circular plate. Nevertheless, it is utterly magnificent. £1,200-£1,500.
Neptune in pearlware – Lot 66
This bold and attractive early 19th century pearlware bust of Neptune would add antique grandeur to any home. It is finely modelled and decorated and stands 34cm tall. Regarding condition, there is a restored chip to one corner of the base. £250-£350.
Child’s plate embedded in history – Lot 178
Though slavery is a highly emotive topic we cannot ignore our history and this object reminds us of that period of time. The 19th century black and white transfer-printed child’s plate, with moulded daisy border, c.1855, probably made by John Carr & Sons of North Shields, Northumberland, reads; SUGAR, How it grows & How it’s made, CANE MILL and depicts slaves at work. It is16cm wide and is in good overall condition. £80-£120.
Spode delight – Lot 258
Spode has long been hugely collectable and this early 19th century Spode hand-painted porcelain footed comport, c.1815-20, would be a wonderful addition. It has flower embossed work, hand-painted floral specimens and is marked ‘Spode’ to the underside. £200-£300.
