1. An early 19th century blue and white transfer-printed large Beemaster platter, c. 1820. It is printed with one of the most iconic transferware designs. 51cm wide.
2. An extremely rare early 19th century red and white transfer-printed Spode Musicians pattern pilgrim flask c. 1820. 18 cm wide including the spout.
3. A large 18th century tall Whieldon creamware mug with narrow opening, c. 1770. It has applied sprig decoration and has a the typical lead glaze with greens, browns and yellows. 19cm tall.
4. An important early 19th century Continental coffee can from Nelson’s Baltic service, c. 1802. It is decorated with oak leaf border with gilding, the front with an anchor with ‘Nelson’ above, 2nd April, Baltic beneath. The sides read; 14th February and Glorious 1st. 6cm tall.
5. An early 20th century Art Deco Newport Pottery Clarice Cliff tri-footed, two-handled cauldron, c. 1935. It is hand-painted with unusual Apple pattern. Factory marks to base. 7.5 cm tall.
6. Slavery Interest: early 19th century black and bat transfer-printed moulded bone china plate, c.1830. The central transfer is of a seated enslaved woman holding a child in her arms. This was taken from “Third report of Female Society….For the Relief of British Negro Slaves”, published in 1828.
The four panels read: ‘I am oppressed, undertake for me, Isaiah 38C 14V, As Borrowed beams illume our way And shed a bright cheering ray, I labour have no rest, Lam 5C 5V, So Christian Light dispels the gloom that shades poor Negro’s hapless doom’. Unmarked. 23 cm wide.
