Oriental treasure | Lot 135
Bidders are expected come out in force to secure this Chinese blue and white ‘nine’ dragon bottle vase, Jiaqing mark, period (1796-1820). Its rounded sides rise from a short straight foot, to a tapering cylindrical neck, painted with six dragons chasing a flaming pearl among trailing clouds and flame scrolls. Three dragons emerge from swirling waves, with a thin band of ruyi below the rim and a thin band of key-fret at the foot. Provenance: English private collection since the 1880s. £10,000-£15,000.
Autumnal English Beauty | Lot 189
Classic English rural beauty is captured in all its glory more than a centry ago by George Turner of Derby (British, 1843-1910). This landscape with harvesters, signed and dated ’87 oil on canvas, comes in a gilt frame. £15,000-£20,000.
