Here picture valuer Faye Dodsley highlights 5 of her favourite lots in Hansons Auctioneers’ November 3 Single-Owner Fine Art Paintings Auction
Floral Enchantment
This stunning composition, below left, is in the style in the famous Marcel Dyf (1899-1985). He created the most enchanting floral still life works with a pallet of fresh rainbow colours. This glorious composition would brighten up any home or business and is definitely one to look out for in the auction. It’s estimated that it was painted around the 1930s-1950s.

Abstract American Dream
The wonderful abstract piece, above right, is by American artist Lewis Scott (1911- 1980). I absolutely love paintings like this as abstract work never goes out of fashion whatever the age and you can place these in any setting.

War Artist’s Composition
This limited-edition print, above, by Sir Muirhead Bone 1876- 1953. He was one of the greatest artists to capture moments of the first and Second World War. He documents the pieces in reference to what happened in the years of the war period. These Captivating images really make you feel like you’re in the picture watching it all unfold. This is a great little find and one of my favourite prints in this stunning collection of his works.

Talk Of The Town
This composition, above, is by artist Harry Urban (1874-1946) who propels his wonderful palette of colours and brings exciting energy to his market town scenes.

Centuries-Old Beauty
This star lot is in the style of floral still life artist Jan Baptist Bosschaert the younger (1667-1746). This stunning still life composition really captures a memorable moment in time and the use of texture and romanticism is really shown in this delicate piece. It’s believed that it was painted sometime between the 1930s and 1950s.
