Lot 206 | Chinese Magnificence
This stunningly beautiful Chinese enamel on glass bottle vase, Qianlong mark, Republic Period or earlier, features a rounded body painted with roundels of flowers on a blue bat and scrolling cloud ground, below a tapering neck painted with flowers on a bright yellow ground. 19cm high. £15,000-£20,000.
Lot 169 | Queen Victoria’s Lace
This small collection of lace, handed down through a family, was reputed to have been part of the lace veiling that shrouded Queen Victoria as she lay in her coffin in January 1901. It has come from Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight. The lace measures 16 x 27½ inches approx. There is a small hole in the centre. The smaller pieces of lace, which are in strips, are Metchin lace. One has staining. Also including in the lot is an early 20th Century gilt metal and enamel oval locket. The original provenance is included in the lot, dated 01/02/1901. £1,500-£2,000.
Lot 184 | Blue John Heritage
This striking 19th century Blue John demi-lune table top, mounted on a slate base, with red marble border is part of Derbyshire’ history and heritage. Blue John (also known as Derbyshire Spar) is a semi-precious mineral, a rare form of fluorite with bands of a purple-blue or yellowish colour. In the UK it is found only at Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern at Castleton in Derbyshire. During the 19th century, it was mined for its ornamental value, and mining continues on a small scale. £3,000-£5,000
Lot 174 | Vampire Kit
This late 19th century vampire slaying kit, with titled provenance, was formally the property of Lord Hailey, a British peer and administrator of British India. The oak case has two brass crucifixes set on the lid acting as a sliding secret locking device. Under the inner lid is a fitted crucifix. The box has a lift-out tray fitted with a matching pair of pistols with screw off barrels a brass powder flask, holy water holder another glass bottle and a tool for adjusting the firing action of the pistols. Under the tray there are fitted compartments for a Gothic Bible, wooden mallet and stake adorned with fancy metalwork, a pair of brass candlesticks with wooden holders, another crucifix, mirror, rosary necklace and Metropolitan police paperwork from the period. The box, mallet, stake and wooden tool are stamped with the initials of Lord Hailey. £2,000-£3,000
Lot 498 | Hardwick Hall Life
A snapshot of musical entertainment at a Derbyshire stately home centuries ago ias been captured in this captivating oil on canvas by Robert Alexander Hillingford (1828-1904). It is entitled The Duke’s Musicians – A Reminiscence of Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire. It was exhibited at The Royal Academy in 1883, number 844. Provenance: From the estate of the Honourable E Leo Kolber of Montreal and thence by descent. £4,000-£6,000

This colourful artwork by Iraqi artist Azzawi, Dia(1939) depicts an abstract horse, gouache on paper. It is signed and dated 1981. Azzawi is one of the leading pioneers of modern contemporary Arabian art and is currently based in London. £5000-£7000
Lot 408 | Plate Perfection
This attractive c. 1785-95, cabinet plate features a rare example of fruit and flowers painted by esteemed Derby-born porcelain artist William Billingsley. It features the only recorded example of pattern no 174. It is marked Fruit and Flowers by Billingsley. £800-£1000
