Historica and Metal Detecting Finds are sold at specialist auctions led by two experts in this field.
Mark Becher heads up our Historica/Metal Detecting Finds section.
Exceptional metal detecting finds go under the hammer at Hansons. For example, a 15th century brooch found near Kirby Muxloe Castle, Leicestershire, in 2016 made £20,800 from a guide price of £6,000.
It was believed to be a gift of love from William Hastings, 1st Baron Hastings, to his wife Katherine Neville, who he married in 1462.
