A festive fayre packed with crafts, gift ideas, musical entertainment – and charity auction fun - is coming to Georgian mansion Bishton Hall this December.

The grounds of the Staffordshire country house at Wolseley Bridge will host Bishton Hall Christmas Fayre on Saturday, 19 December and Sunday, 20 December from 10.30am-5pm each day.

Enjoy a glass of mulled wine, tuck into a mince pie and browse Christmas gift ideas while enjoying festive music.

Generous gardens at the atmospheric Grade II* listed property, which dates back to circa 1750, offer visitors plenty of space to enjoy craft, gift and food stalls. There will also be live entertainment, a licensed bar and carols performed by Andy and Kate from grand musical theatrical group Beyond the Barricade.

Plus, on Sunday, 20 December well-known auctioneer Charles Hanson, a familiar face on TV shows such as Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip, will host an auction in aid of his favourite charities.

Charles, owner of Hansons and its country auction centre Bishton Hall, has teamed up with Utopia Festivals, organisers of the event, to help deliver some Christmas cheer.

He said: “I hope people will come along to enjoy some festive fun at Bishton. Its grounds offer plenty of space for people to have some fun while respecting social distancing guidelines. You can meet family and friends and enjoy seasonal cheer in a safe environment. Great care will be taken to ensure all Covid-19 safety regulations are met.”

Utopia Festivals has a Covid-trained medical and security team. Covid compliant temperature checks will be required upon entry, an NHS Track and Trace QR scanning facility will be in operation and hand sanitising stations available. As face masks/coverings are a licensing requirement the event will be compliant with the latest Government Guidelines and where possible these must be worn.

The event will be held at Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, Staffs ST17 0XN. Tickets priced £5 for adults, £2.50 for children (under-fives free) are available from www.utopiafestivals.co.uk. If you are a stallholder and would like to attend the event, please email [email protected].
