Explore the world of antiques with TV experts Eric Knowles and Charles Hanson at a free valuation event in Staffordshire.
The popular pair will be at Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, on Tuesday September 22, 10am-2pm, to assess all types of antiques and quirky collectables. And, if you like the guide price, you could turn your unwanted items into cash.
Bargain Hunt regular Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers and Bishton Hall, his Staffordshire saleroom, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to have their antiques valued, learn more about treasured objects and explore Bishton, a wonderful period property dating back to 1750. Perhaps Eric and I can help unleash an auction windfall.”
Valuations are free, no appointment is necessary and items can be consigned to auction. Antique fans can make the day extra special by enjoying a VIP Talk and Tour of Bishton Hall, starting at 9.15am. It will include refreshments and an opportunity to hear a talk by the renowned experts. To book a place, priced £10, contact Rachael Morley by emailing [email protected].
Eric Knowles, a specialist in ceramics and glass, has appeared on TV’s Antiques Roadshow. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, he is a published author on subjects such as Victoriana, Royal memorabilia, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and René Lalique.
Charles said: “It’s a privilege to have Eric with us at Bishton and I hope people will make the most of this opportunity to meet him and have objects assessed.”
Ample grounds and airy rooms at the atmospheric Georgian mansion allow Hansons to host the event safely respecting all Covid-19 regulations.
Charles said: “Bishton has already played host to similar events this summer and they’re proving popular. I am very much looking forward to welcoming more guests to Bishton.”
