Television’s BBC Bargain Hunt is heading to Hansons Auctioneers to film its popular antiques show this September.
The Derbyshire saleroom has become a regular venue for the series thanks to its lively atmosphere and packed crowds.
Charles Hanson, a familiar face on BBC Bargain Hunt since 2002, said: “The TV show has filmed at Hansons on several occasions and it’s always a hugely entertaining event.
“I think the warm welcome the TV crews and presenters receive from the people of Derbyshire and neighbouring Staffordshire, not to mention the visitors who travel from far and wide to join the fun, keeps bringing the programme makers back.
“We pride ourselves on drawing the biggest and best saleroom crowds to ensure the atmosphere is the best it can possibly be for filming. That may well be why we’ve been chosen to host Bargain Hunt’s Christmas special in the past.
“People love to see the excitement unfold as the show’s blue and red teams auction off items they’ve rooted out at antique fairs. The winning team is the one that makes the most profit, which in our case will be in aid of BBC Children in Need.”
BBC Bargain Hunt will be filming at Hansons in Etwall on September 19 during the Derbyshire saleroom’s monthly Antiques and Collectors Auction, which runs from September 12-19.
Mr Hanson said: “Many people have already arranged to come along to what is always a packed event. The more the merrier but if you do decide to drop by please be aware that it’s always extremely busy and can be standing room only.”
BBC Bargain Hunt will be filming at Hansons, Heage Lane, Etwall, Derbyshire, DE65 6LS, on Thursday September 19. The auction starts at 10am.
Hansons welcomes items for its monthly Antiques and Collectors sales. Free valuations are available at its Etwall Auction Centre on Wednesdays, 5-7pm, Fridays, 10am-4pm, and Saturdays, 9am-noon. To find out more CLICK HERE.
