Antiques expert Charles Hanson is heading to Newcastle-under-Lyme to do free valuations.
Charles, a familiar face on TV shows such as Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip, will be at The New Vic Theatre, Etruria Road, on Thursday, September 12, from 10am-2pm, together with fellow antiques expert Ray Heath.
Charles said: “I can’t wait to see what the people of Newcastle will uncover from their attics, drawers, jewellery boxes or even from under the bed.
“Whatever you have at home, whether it’s an ornament, painting, militaria object, old coin, designer watch or piece of jewellery, we would love to see it.
“We can value anything and everything and, if you like the guide price, you can enter your object into one of our general or specialist auctions.”
Ray Heath said: “I’ve been passionate about antiques since the early 1970s when I became interested in 20th century ceramics and decorative arts.
“I have a particular interest in Moorcroft pottery and enjoy a close friendship with the Moorcroft family. I also have a thorough knowledge of Minton, Royal Doulton and Beswick – all pottery we love to see and sell at Hansons.
“Staffordshire is my home county and I very much hope we can unearth some wonderful objects that will go on to gain their owner a windfall at auction.”
Hansons recently expanded into Staffordshire, purchasing Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, as a country house auction showroom.
One of its star finds this year was a first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The former Staffordshire library book, bought at a table top sale near Stafford for £1, sold for a hammer price of £28,500 at Hansons’ summer library auction
Charles Hanson and Ray Heath will be at The New Vic Theatre, Etruria Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs, ST5 0JG, on Thursday, September 12, and October 10, 10am-2pm. Free valuations are also available at Bishton Hall, Wolseley Bridge, Staffordshire ST17 0XN, every Thursday, 10am-4pm.
