If you’ve ever wondered if that ancient vase, pretty brooch, old painting or quirky object gathering dust is worth a fortune you can find out for free in Dulwich courtesy of stars from the TV antiques world Charles Hanson and Adam Schoon.
Adam has appeared as a specialist on the Antiques Road Show while Charles is a familiar face on TV’s Bargain Hunt, Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip.
Both will be heading to Dulwich on separate dates with Charles first to arrive. You can meet him at St Barnabas Church, 40 Carlton Avenue, on May 1, at a free valuation event from 11am-2pm. Adam will be at the same venue on June 5, July 3 and October 2.
Charles said: “I love the area and the people. I am looking forward to making some great finds and hopefully helping some people secure an auction windfall.”
If people are happy with their valuations, items can be consigned to sell at a forthcoming Hansons London auction. They are held monthly at The Normansfield Theatre, 2A Langdon Park, Teddington.
Charles said: “I launched Hansons London in February, an expansion of my Derbyshire auction business which I started in 2005, and we’ve seen some amazing results already.
“Antiques and history is my passion and I hope the people of Dulwich will come out in force bringing me those forgotten treasures from their attics, cupboards and drawers.”
Easily portable antiques, jewellery, silver, watches, gold, ceramics, paintings coins and collectables can be assessed.
The free valuation event will be held at St Barnabas Church, 40 Carlton Avenue, Dulwich, SE21 7DG, on May 1, 11am-2pm, with future dates booked on June 5, July 3, September 4, October 2 and November 6.
Items can also be valued at Hansons London Valuation and Consignment Office, 77 Bridge Road, Hampton Court Village, KT8 9HH, on Wednesdays, 11am-3pm, and Fridays, 10am-4pm. To find out more, call 020 8979 7954 or email [email protected].
